On the Day of the Christian Martyr, be inspired by the example of Abdiwelli Ahmed, who left Islam to follow Christ and paid the ultimate price for his witness.
Although born into an ethnic Somali family that had been devout Muslims for generations, Abdiwelli Ahmed began questioning Islam while in college. After reading the Bible to compare it with the Quran, he fell in love with God’s Word and eventually placed his faith in Jesus Christ.
Leaving Islam, however, made him a target for Muslims who considered him an apostate and a threat to their faith. “I was beaten up,” Abdiwelli said. “All sorts of bad things were done to me. My life was in danger.”
