“Everyone knows it happens, but no one thinks it’s going to happen to them.”

Richard and Jeanette had served the Lord in China for almost 10 years. They knew the Chinese government persecuted Christians and that it was illegal for foreigners to work there for the purpose of proclaiming the gospel. They also knew that some foreign Christian workers had been forced to leave the country.

But they didn’t think it would happen to them … until the day in 2020 when more than 20 national police officers showed up at their apartment. Although Richard and Jeanette had expected their time of gospel service in China to be ending soon, they didn’t know how long or painful that end would be.
